Travel Award for Students and Early Career Researchers via the IFAC Activity Fund
We are pleased to announce that travel awards will be provided for selected students and early career researchers. These awards will cover expenses related to the conference registration fees and hotel lodging. Recipients will be chosen based on merit and financial need to ensure that talented researchers can participate without being hindered by financial constraints.
Note: This award is independent of the Fellows program supported by NSF. Students and Early Career Researchers Travel Award has different eligibility requirements and is supported by the IFAC Activity Fund and IEEE CSS.
Application Information
The applications close on October 1st, 2024, 5pm (ET). To apply, please follow these directions:
Students and early career researchers must fill out the following form.
The final step requires the advisor of students and immediate supervisor of early career researchers to submit a letter of support (details below).
For the students: the letter must certify that the applicant is currently enrolled as a student and is planning to attend the CPHS’24.
For the early career researchers: the letter must certify that the applicant has graduated in or after 2019 with the latest degree and is planning to attend the CPHS’24.
Letters should include a short message of support of the student's/early career researcher’s application (less than ten lines).
By October 1st, 2024, 5pm (ET), a letter from each applicant’s advisor/supervisor is required to complete the application. This letter must be sent via email to K. Merve Dogan (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair), dogank@erau.edu with copying k.merve.dogan@gmail.com.The subject of the letter should be “CPHS’24 travel award support letter for [applicant’s full name]”.
Eligibility and Requirements
In order to be eligible for the program, an applicant must be an IFAC affiliate at the time of the application. To become IFAC Affiliates, registration is entirely free of charge and can be swiftly completed at affiliates.ifac-control.org
First-time conference attendees, underrepresented minorities, women, and individuals with disabilities are highly encouraged to apply. In case the number of applicants for travel support exceeds the budget, additional criteria will be used to select the applicants.
Deadline and Award Notification
October 1st, 2024: The application form closes.
October 5th, 2024: Decision messages about travel support recipients are expected to be sent out
IMPORTANT NOTE: The decision letter will contain additional details regarding the accommodation and registration support (student registration is not eligible for a manuscript upload) provided by Travel Support. Please be aware that the travel support will not reimburse any out-of-pocket expenses.
